Wearable Technology

  Wearable Technology

The new wave of technology is here and it is called Wearable technology. The technological devices which were only seen in movies of James bond are now ready to move out from the sci-fi movies. Google has already launched its Google glass which will be available for consumers in 2014.Samsung's galaxy Gear and Sony's Smart watch 2 is out in the market and other tech giants like Apple, LG, and Nissan are going to launch their wearable products soon. So a new segment of technology products is going to take the market by storm but will this next big thing is worth noticing or is it a next big failure.

There is a huge potential in technology market and new inventions are always welcomed. The market of Wearable products has already reached around $4.6 bn which shows that the consumers are showing interest in this new sector. But every new product range has to face new challenges which decides the future acceptance of that technology. Wearable technology has to deal with many obstacles like convenience, battery life, privacy, functionality, theft etc.

The biggest obstacle of technical devices is their battery life, by far all users are suffered with this problem and without any doubt wearable tech products will also be afflicted by the same. This will limit their use as these devices are to be synchronized with the smartphones that will further result in faster consumption of batteries of both the devices.

Another big problem is privacy. With the introduction of these devices the personal life of the consumers and non-consumers is on stake. For instance a person wearing Google glass can click pictures and record videos of anyone and they will not even know about it. That's why it is banned in many public places like restrooms, boardrooms, bars etc.

These wearable techs have to be smart and at the same time should also serve the purpose of handiness. It would be illogical and a turn off for consumers if they would be bigger and out of their comfort zone. So manufacturers have to face lots of difficulties in establishing their products in this market
.
Nothing is safe in this digital world, be it your smartphone, tablet or computer. So either manufacturers have to develop a robust security system for their products or they need a certification from the German hackers group; Computers chaos Club who breached the security lock of iPhone 5s.

If the wearable devices survived all these obstacles then this segment of technology will be termed as a new dimension just like internet did in past. We are going to see a lot of devices in this coming year, some magical which will leave us spellbound because of the endless possibilities of human thinking and some so bizarre that will disappoint us with the idea of wearable tech products. At present this is an area of experimentation, products will be launch and will be discarded and time will determine the future existence of this technology sector.
